A couple weekends ago we took a little trip to Coronado Island. Man oh man do I love it there! The houses are a dream and the yards are breathtaking. I'm pretty sure I could live there forever... if I could just come up with 6 or 7 mill!
Yes, this is the famous Hotel Coronado- and NO, we didn't stay there. We did go in and look around at it's poshness though - and maybe even secretly pretended to be guests there. I do believe Marilyn Monroe stayed there and some people say it's haunted...hmmm, at a couple G's per night, I guess I'll never know. The weather was a little chilly for the beach, so we rented a "surrey bike" for the day and rode around the island- what a blast! Who needs Disneyland with a ride like this! I really must share one little conversation in the car from the back seat on the way to Cali:
Saedi: "Why are we stopped on the side of the road?"
Kendree: "Dad is getting a CRIMINAL ticket"
Saedi: "What? Daddy is not a criminal!"
Kendree: "Yes he is. Did you not just hear what that cop said? He said Dad was going at CRIMINAL speed!"
Look who's drivin' now! (criminal in the back please)

The next day we drove up to L.A. to see the play WICKED. We all loved it - I could see it again and again! Much to Kendree's disappointment, we could not locate a star on Sunset Boulevard for Heath Ledger, which she wanted to mark with a tear and a kiss. Does he even have one? Anyway, we were able to find, in Beverly Hills, the house of none other than...

Crap, sorry... I can't find the picture right now! But it was Simon Cowell's - I'll have to put it on later.

What a fun and relaxing trip - lot's of memories! (and I'm sure from our insurance company too!)

That bike looks like a good time. I'm confused how you could get to criminal speeds, though.

Oh, this is one of our favorite places and no we have never stayed their either. A few trips ago my boys were playing with a couple of other little boys who were with their nannies. A bit later their Dad came down and it was Larry King. So funny...he had his socks pulled up all the way and was wearing a Tijuana shirt. Nice guy, despite the lack of fashion sense. I took a picture of him pulling out a wedgy, but deleted it later. Ashlyn and I both have our Coronado dream homes picked out...lol.

Heehee that's funny Ryan got caught. I guess in his haste to get your magical vacation started he forgot that there is actually a speed limit. I would have sped too though to get a chance to ride that fancy bike cart thingy. And see Wicked...jealous. And go to the posh island abode. And see Simon Cowells house - come on you know that was the highlight of the whole trip - admit it. :)
So glad that you had a great time.

You saw Wicked!! I can't wait for it to come to Gammage in July 2009! We saw it in LA before the cruise in Jan and it was wonderful. I just have to convince Justin that it is worth $100 per ticket. :) We rented one of those bikes when we went to San Diego and it was a blast. Looks like you had a fun time. I'm jealous. :)

What a fun trip! I LOVE wicked! I think it is my favorite musical! I am trying to convince Brett to go in June (wish me luck..the $100/ticket thing isn't helping me.) Sorry to hear about the speeding ticket!
