Bon Jovi - Then and Now

My husband surprised me with some concert tickets on Friday night and... I got the t-shirt! I have such a love for seeing Bon Jovi in concert. He's so awesome... even from the back! I'm not referring to his behind (although it may be quite nice)... I'm referring to the amazing location of our seats. My sweet husband said, "I didn't get you these tickets because I'm cheap, it was because I knew you'd enjoy this view!" Thanks honey! Since this brings back a flood of 80's memories, I thought I'd share a pic from the first Bon Jovi experience. First let me say, Ry has always had an un-love feeling for Bon Jovi, so I was quite surprised he bought the tickets - including one for himself! He didn't appreciate the Bon Jovi wall art plastered in my room. What is wrong about having a poster of such beauty hanging above our bed? (Just kidding, I was in High School - but still...). This is then...

Ready for some Bon Jovi "Slippery When Wet" with my best friends in 1988. This is now...

Seeing the "Lost Highway" with my best friend in 2008!

Although Ry didn't rock out as much as I did, he had to suck it up and admit that Bon Jovi is freakin' awesome in concert! And Daughtry opening for him was not a disappointment! We loved it, especially his old stuff like "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Wanted, Dead or alive", "Livin' on a Prayer"... the list could go on and on. Although I like his song "She's a Little Run-away", Saedra's version is good too - she thought it said, "She's a Little Over-weight". That cracks me up when kids to that. Which brings me to the story of when I was younger, I thought the song "If you like Pina Coladas, and gettin' caught in the rain" really said "If you like bean Enchiladas...". I think my version is much better!

P.S. Did anyone notice that was 2 decades between those pics... this would probably be a great time for you to tell me how I don't look a day older "now" then I did "then"! :)

Oh my ....hair! That is so totally rad. I love, love, love it. I'm pretty sure I could have been your best friend back then I had the same exact hair.
I am so jealous you got Daughtry and Bon Jovi in the same night. I have a great love for both. Ryan has got to have scored some big monster points with you for letting you relive your love with the Bon man. Secretly though I bet all men have a little love for Jon Bon I mean his songs were some of the best to get a kiss with. What man couldn't love him for that.

LOVE the then and now comparison. I know you were so "in" back then. I was only 10 in '88 but I was trying my best to get up hair up and plasterd with as much hairspray as I could. I bet the concert was awesome!

LUCKY!

So, yes, your hair looks a tad better now, but you are still just as skinny...how is that even possible?...I don't know if I can be your friend!

WOW With capital bangs! I almost forgot those days of hairspray and back combing. I must say you haven't aged at all and definitely have improved on the looks and fashion. What a concert - I love Bon Jovi!

Holy Hair Batman - I thought I had big hair in '88 - yours is much bigger. That was my first year of college and Bon Jovi is associated with so many memories from those days! I love Sadi's lyrics! I could probablly do a whole post on how my kids butcher all of my sweet 80's songs!

Oh my gosh Deana, I thought I was in that picture for a minute, then just realized I had that exact same hair in 88...lol. Cute blog! BTW, you have gotten more beautiful with age.

That picture made my day.

I was so uncool, I was listening to Simon and Garfunkel and James Taylor in 1988. But I did have some really good bangs. Like, really good.

P.S. People that were 10 in 1988 should not rub it in our big, giant hair.
