Oh, What did we do in the Summertime? (I know...but I couldn't think of a better title)

This summer was dang fast! The whole month of June was grueling summer school for Kendree (which she got her much deserved A+), and some basketball camp for Sade (she got a sweet jersey, but no trophy this year- which from reading nicole's blog... they are quite dangerous anyway!). For the 4th of July we flew to Colorado for a week vacation. The girls love going to see their cousins- it's a little scary though to think that next summer 3 of them will be 16... including Kendree and they frequently remind us that next summer they won't need me and my brothers to take them anywhere because they'll be able to drive themselves around for all their shenanigans. That is hilarious - they're sooo funny! Who knows, maybe Grandma Cook will let 'em drive on down to the Loaf-N-Jug for some soda pop. When we got home from Colorado, Kendree went in for her surgery 3 days later, and that took care of two weeks in July. So we've only had a couple weeks left to...play the wii, watch CSI (kendree's in love with Nick Stokes) and The Office re-runs, watch SYTYCD, swim (looking for yet another pool boy. Why do we seem to go through them like underwear?), take naps, read (we started a fun new book club), and oh just so many more crazy exciting things...too many to list. All in all, a pretty great summer indeed and to top it off ,we (and a few extra teenagers, of course) went to see Paramore in concert last Saturday at the Mesa Amphitheatre. If you have not had the priviledge of seeing Hayley live... you must! Ken and her friends were close enough to take this pic of Josh & Hayley.

This was the sickest concert! (See, I'm talking like a teen here, sickest actually means coolest for those who didn't already know that). Seriously, Paramore was amazing... Ryan couldn't move his neck the next day from rockin out like Hayley there in the background. (Hee, hee)

So, school starts tomorrow and Saedra is so excited this year because she got Mr.Relken. This is a FIRST for her to be positive at all about going back to school. Kendree... well... I think she's ready to go back, but she's so lost in "Breaking Dawn"-land right now to even comprehend that school starts Manana! (pronounced mah-nya-nah, I'm trying to prep her for her spanish class...I think we'll have tacos tonight)

That looks like a blast! i always appreciate a good rockin' band that really knows how to jam. And yes, I do know who they are. I first saw the misery business video and thought they jammed! I checked them out on itunes and will need to download a few tunes! That really would have been a fun concert. But remember what the roses smell like?!? Check it out and tell me how hard you laughed.

Curtis and I wanted to go see Paramore so bad!! I'm jealous! I knew what you meant by "sickest" too....does that make me cool?? Naw...I just have an almost 11 year old son who thinks he is 16.

Sounds like a fun filled summer. My kids went back to school yesterday. Abbey started kindergarten...that makes me cry. :(

Okay, back to reading Breaking Dawn!!

I am totally lame. I have no idea who Paramore is. But imagining you and Ryan rocking out makes me giggle. You guys have so much fun together. I'm glad my summer wasn't the only one that sped by. I was ALMOST sad to have school start. ALMOST. I'm afraid I had to hide breaking dawn from Victoria because she wasn't getting anything done. (she'd already read it once through) I'm kind of sad it's the last one. Now What?
